Configuring Apache on CENTOS:
\nJust some random notes on what I had to do to get my Perferred tools installed on Apache under centos:<\/p>\n
yum install php-Smarty php-pear php-pear-MDB2 php-mysql<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
To get pear configured I ran these commands:<\/p>\n
pear upgrade MDB2
\npear install \u2018MDB2#mysql\u2019
\npear channel-discover pear.firephp.org
\npear install firephp\/FirePHPCore<\/p><\/blockquote>\nAfter starting up mysqld I ran the script to set root password and lock down the mysql db:<\/p>\n
service mysqld start<\/p>\n
\/usr\/bin\/mysql_secure_installation<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Other useful commands:<\/p>\n
chcon -R -h -t httpd_sys_content_t www<\/p>\n
service httpd restart<\/p>\n
mkdir \/usr2\/apps\/Smarty<\/p>\n
cd \/usr2\/apps\/Smarty<\/p>\n
wget http:\/\/www.smarty.net\/do_download.php?download_file=Smarty-2.6.26.tar.gz<\/p>\n
tar xozvf Smarty-2.6.26.tar.gz<\/p>\n
mkdir \/usr\/local\/lib\/php<\/p>\n
mkdir \/usr\/local\/lib\/php\/Smarty<\/p>\n
cp -r Smarty-2.6.26\/libs\/* \/usr\/local\/lib\/php\/Smarty<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Set include path:<\/p>\n
vi php.ini<\/p>\n
AND MAKE FOLLOWING edit tot he include path line<\/p>\n
include_path = \u201c.:\/usr\/share\/php:\/usr\/local\/lib\/php\/Smarty:\/usr\/share\/pear\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Restart Webserver<\/p>\n
